Yes

Posted on Jan 24th, 2006 by Jessica : The Evolutionary Connector - Gaia Jessica

Brian, our good CEO, always says: "What would you do if you weren't afraid?" It makes me think of the angels who always say the same, "Fear Not!" That's the message. And today, I have been thinking about it and I hope it offers something to you.

Fear Not! I am not going to be afraid. I will say yes to life over and over again until it is the music that characterizes my being and I do it with complete flow. I am saying yes, even if there is silence in response, even if I cannot see the immediate result, even if I am held back. I repeat this word to myself, over and over again. I tell it to my teachers, I say it a thousand times. Yes to growth, yes to change, yes to miraculous self-altering, karma releasing, illusion shattering experiences. Yes to difficult calls to action, yes to hard words I need to hear and hard lessons, yes to responsibilities, yes to beauty, yes to love, yes to challenge, yes to humility, yes to the greatness of others, yes to taking a chance, yes to my own greatness, yes. I say yes to open thousands of hidden doors that I have walked past a thousand times.

My whole life I have dreamed of houses with hidden rooms, strange shadowed openings in real-life places. They were houses and buildings that I knew with interiors I’d never seen. That’s me. That has been the truth. And I say yes to continually discovering these veiled quarters, to opening up to the palaces and heavens within, the climbs, the cosmos, the hard-to-face tests and unresolved transgressions. I will say yes. I will go forward. And I thank Heaven for the grace that enables me to do so.

Wow! What powerfully positive affirmations!!

I could use a little bit of that “yes” perspective, too. :)

saying ‘yes’ means you make a choice. it is not a resignation to fate or some other power or person to take control of you - it is an afirmation that you take responsibility for your life, and that is the most powerful gesture that you can take.

I love that you metioned the hidden doors.
To me, that is the hardest part. They seem to be hidden because they are out of the realm of
my understanding. To discover these doors is very difficult. For me,  It signifies stepping out of my box and growing in directions that are uncomfortable to me.
I say yes to being uncomfortable, and trying to be open minded beyond what I believe to be open minded. Hmm, does that make any sense?

I’ve lived in a house with hidden doors…and if my real life situation is anything akin to the potential metaphor the doors lead not only to awesome places but are equally wonderful escape hatches.  We had many a journey on the other side of the wall, in some places we could peep back into my house like the movies, in others look over the dance floor at the bar downstairs and a major view was sitting looking out false windows at those comings and goings in front of the building…

Ah the hidden doors, and avenues of life, if they are anything like my house….

Jessica, this is truly beautiful and absolutely courageous!  I especially loved the line:
“I am saying yes, even if there is silence in response, even if I cannot see the immediate result, even if I am held back.”
What a powerful statement of faith.  Here’s to knowing with certainty that life is filled with magnificent doors to be opened, no matter what we’re able to see.  And here’s to saying yes to them all!  Thanks for the inspiration, my friend.

Faith, yes, it’s a about that and about choice. What else are we here for?                                  .And David, the hidden doors are difficult to discover for me as well. I found out they existed in much the same way people find new worlds in fantasies, by stumbling upon them! But, since I learned that there was so much of myself that lay unseen I have been working hard to cultivate my clarity and actions, and I find they open much more quickly. It is like I have to ready myself to know those mysterious parts because they are indeed out of my realm of understanding. It’s a bit scary, but it is also really wonderful. There is nothing like that kind of discovery that takes you to a whole new sphere. It’s like the death and rebirth that Joseph Campbell talks about. The experiences I’ve had have transformed me intrinisically.
